If anything changes in travel you should set up your own baking business….they said!

They being my colleagues and friends in the travel industry where I had worked for just over 20 years …who would have guessed how things would pan out, the world was faced with a pandemic and I like many found myself out of work and becoming a full time stay at home mummy.

My husband encouraged me to think about what I really wanted to do & enjoyed doing. Baking like many during lockdown was one of my big pleasures, my love of baking has been in my heart for as long as I can remember, stemming from being a little girl baking in my mums kitchen with my 2 sisters – and of course licking the bowl was always the best bit!

With thanks to my  friends and family who have tried and tested my bakes many many times over many many years and with huge support from my husband Paul, I took the plunge and turned a personal passion into a professional passion.  With mixing bowl & wooden spoon at the ready – and lots of quality control checks from my chief taster (my son Lewis!) – Della Bella Bakes was born.

As the saying goes home is where the heart is and that is where it all began, back in my childhood home learning from my best teacher, my mum.
